With the advancement of 5G technology, wireless communication networks are extending into automotive systems with the objective to connect vehicles to vehicles (V2V), to infrastructure (V2I), to pedestrians (V2P), to the cloud (V2C), and more. This is leading the automotive industry into a new era of rapid technological development.
In addition to verifying the performance and operation of the integrated antenna subsystems in these new types of vehicles, manufacturers must also test to meet evolving standards and norms. As the demand for electric and/or connected vehicles grows and V2X communication develops, new or strengthened standards will emerge, and relevant certification tests will ensue.
For this reason, the world leader in inspection, verification, testing and certification, SGS, has been equipped with the MVG SG 3000, the first OTA system for automotive antenna testing that is compliant with the 5GAA VATM standard.
