SAR & HAC Testing

For the pre-test and certification measurement of consumer mobile telecommunication equipment (MTE), wireless devices and integrated antennas, MVG has innovated a portfolio of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) and Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) testing systems, capable of reducing expenses and creating time-efficiencies during the R&D phase of consumer electronic device development.

SAR and HAC Testing

SAR and HAC measurement system

The radio frequency (RF) energy radiated by mobile telecommunication equipment (MTE) is absorbed in the body and produces heat. The rate at which RF electromagnetic energy is imparted to an element or mass of a biological body is called Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). For radio frequency safety purposes, international regulatory bodies and committees have elaborated standards to which MTE should comply. MVG provides a complete line of SAR measurement equipment and software to ensure compliancy with certification standards as well as flexibility in terms of set-up and use.

In addition, as the use of mobile phone together with hearing aid devices can cause interference, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has required that mobile phone compatibility with hearing aid devices be measured. MVG offers a range of HAC measurement system which enables the M (RF test) and T (audio test) rating of the DUT to be defined.
